It was a hot day at the market but I still wanted a hot sandwich. It's hard to get a good Philly Cheesesteak in the South unless you find some place run by a transplant downtown so I was glad I stumbled across this place.
Had a basic Philly Cheesesteak and didn't add anything. Enjoyed talking with the guys working the booth though we were all melting. Food was really good, savory meat, and fresh warm bun. Good quick meal. -

No idea why my expectations were so high eating in Quincy Market, but I saw this stand and decided haven't had a Philly cheesesteak in a while, so why not? I ordered a regular cheesesteak with mushrooms. The service was pretty quick for a midweek lunchtime and there's plenty of ketchup, hot sauce, and bbq sauce for you to add on to the tasteless cheesesteak. This cheesesteak was so underwhelming, there's a small piece of cheese underneath the plop of steak and mish-mashed mushrooms in between it all. Not at a terrible price point, but bypass this food stand and keep walking to the next one while in Quincy Market.

Not good. Stomach hurts. Not good at all. Meat was dry, not enough cheese. Actually barely any cheese. Also added mushrooms but they gave me like 4.

The old man is a grump. Started talking his own language about us after we asked a couple of questions.

Well, we got a philly for my husband as a "snack" because seeing everyone walking around with the overflowing sandwiches made his mouth water. Since it was his I just asked him what he would rate this business and he said "A ONE! That was the worst philly I've ever had!". Sooooo there you go.
I know that while I was ordering it took an extremely long time. I'm not sure what the hold up was but there were 3 men behind the counter. One kept telling me repeatedly it would be just one minute but no one was heading over to the grill to start the process. He wasn't very happy with the end product. I tried a bite and it was pretty tasteless.
I don't know if I would've given them a one necessarily BUT there are soooo many better options in Boston. Honestly, I would avoid eating at Quincy market altogether unless you're just looking for something cheap.
